During the game, Kevin Durant set an NBA record with 40 points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals while shooting 16/28 from the field and 1/3 from three.
Durant now ranks 20th all-time in field goals made, surpassing Moses Malone (9,435).
After Malone, Durant’s next goal will be Oscar Robertson (9,508).
Durant has averaged 31.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.1 blocks over 23 games, shooting 51.8% from the field and 46.7% from three-point range.
With the loss, the Suns fell to 14-13 in their first 27 games, ranking tenth in the Western Conference.
They are 3-7 in their last ten games and will travel to California to face the Sacramento Kings on Thursday evening.
Durant, the second overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft from Texas, is in his 16th season in the league.
The 2014 MVP has previously played for the Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors, and Oklahoma City Thunder, as well as the Suns.
His career averages are: 27.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game.
