The Nike KD 4 is widely recognized as Kevin Durant’s best-released signature sneaker, thanks in part to the variety of new concepts and themes introduced throughout the shoe’s initial run from 2011 to 2012. Among them was a blue-based pair dubbed “Year of the Dragon,” a reference to the Chinese New Year and the Chinese zodiac. The model is slated to make a highly anticipated return to sale next year, coinciding with the next dragon year, and Nike is working on another “Year of the Dragon” KD 4.
This pair, now referred to as the “Year of the Dragon 2.0,” appears to draw influence from the more specific dragon being commemorated next year—the wood dragon. While its predecessor was blue to commemorate a water year, this iteration is in brown tones with contrasting red accents and a larger embroidered dragon pattern along the medial side of the shoe.
As of present, the “Year of the Dragon 2.0” KD 4 is set to be released in February 2024 for $130.
