According to гᴜмогs, MANCHESTER UNITED is ready to make an £88 million deal for Goncalo Ramos.
The relocation, however, will be determined by who takes over the club.
Goncalo Ramos might join Manchester United for £88 million
Here’s how he’s fared this season in the Champions League
This season, the 21-year-old attacker has been on fire, scoring 24 goals and dishing out 10 assists.
Ramos rose to prominence outside of Portugal after taking over for Cristiano Ronaldo in the Portugal squad and scored a hat-trick in the World Cup’s knockout round.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Erik Ten Hag has granted Man United permission to sign him.
Even though current club Benfica will not sell for less than £88 million.
Such a high sum would need significant financial resources, which United may have in plenty depending on the result of the club’s protracted takeover ᵴтᴜɡɡιе.
Prince Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar and Sir Jim Ratcliffe of Ineos are the two frontrunners in the process.
But, Sheikh Jassim’s company has significantly more financial clout than the British, having previously placed a world-record £5 ƅιllιon offer to acquire the club from existing owners the Glazers.
Ten Hag has already mentioned the need for extra firepower in the summer, with Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen being linked with a move.
Nonetheless, he has urged five stars to score more goals to relieve the pressure on talisman Marcus Rashford, albeit Weghorst was left off the list.
“I believe we have enough players with the ability to score goals, sure,” he added, referring to players such as Bruno [Fernandes], Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay, and Antony dos Santos.
“As I previously said, I work in the back on next season [for transfers], but we’re focusing on this season right now, so first and foremost, make sure everyone is available and maintain refining the method of play, and that’s the greatest possibility of scoring more goals.”
Apart from Rashford, Fernandes is the only United player to have reached double digits this season.
The return of Martial has given United a lift, with Ten Hag stating that he may be in the squad for Sunday’s game against Newcastle.
Enzo Fernandez and the stars help Benfica make big profits
Benfica accepted to spend nearly 18 million euros to buy Enzo Fernandez from River Plate in July 2022, including 8 million euros in surcharges. By January 2023, the Portuguese team earned 121 million euros when the 21-year-old player joined Chelsea. This is one of Benfica’s most profitable deals.
Previously, Benfica pocketed 127.2 million euros when selling Joao Felix to Atletico Madrid in 2019. The Portuguese team recruited Felix from the youth team Padroense on a free transfer in July 2015. This is also the most expensive player sale in the club’s history.
Darwin Nunez joined Liverpool in the summer of 2022 for a fee of 80 million euros. Previously, Benfica spent 34 million euros to welcome the Uruguayan striker to play in September 2020.
Ruben Dias helped Benfica earn 71.6 million euros (including achievement money) from Man City in the summer of 2020. The Portuguese midfielder joined the Benfica U15 team in July 2010 without any cost.
Previously, the Etihad Stadium team also accepted to spend 40 million euros to welcome Ederson Moraes to play in the summer of 2017. In 2015, the Portuguese team only had to spend 500,000 euros to recruit the Brazilian goalkeeper from Rio Ave.
In July 2012, Benfica signed midfielder Victor Lindelof from Vasteras SK for a fee of 3.06 million euros before selling him to Man Utd for 10 times more (35 million euros) in 2017.
