According to Croatian news outlet Sportske Novosti, coach Ancelotti offered Modric a seat on Real Madrid’s coaching staff. However, the experienced Croatian midfielder declined the offer because Modric wanted to play another season. In addition, veteran Modric is in irreconcilable dispute with coach Ancelotti.
The 38-year-old will undoubtedly depart Real Madrid at the end of the season, when his contract expires. In fact, Modric still wants to play on a regular basis, but coach Ancelotti disagrees, making the Croatian star unhappy with his current circumstances.
Modric was pleased when he was guaranteed more official playing time when he signed a one-year contract extension with Real Madrid last year. Modric has demonstrated his ingenuity in recent seasons with Real Madrid.
He scored six goals and assisted six times in 52 games across all competitions last season. However, Ancelotti has handed the Croatia international a less significant role this season.
This season, the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder participated in just 11 of 20 La Liga games, scoring one goal and assisting four times. Coach Ancelotti frequently prioritizes playing players like Toni Kroos, Jude Bellingham, and Federico Valverde in the middle of the field. This left Modric depressed.
Previously, midfielder Modric turned down a lucrative contract offer from the Saudi Pro League last summer and remained with Real Madrid. He remained with the La Liga squad since August 2012 and became a legend at the Bernabeu, winning 23 major championships.
Modric, who is no longer a primary priority at Real Madrid, wishes to retire. His next destination could be America, since Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami team is quite interested in him. The Croatian will join a team full of Barcelona veterans, including Argentine ace Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and Luis Suarez.
According to Spanish daily E-Notices, the team co-owned by former England player David Beckham has emerged as the most likely candidate to recruit Modric. The only issue with this team is the payment structure’s constraints under American Professional League (MLS) laws. However, Modric is open to playing at DRV PNK Stadium if Inter Miami releases a foreign player.
As a result, Beckham can sign a contract with the Croatian player for a sum that exceeds the ceiling, becoming the next European star to join Vice City. Recently, the MLS has become one of the most appealing leagues for famous players nearing the end of their careers.
