Luis Diaz’s father remains an Anfield icon.
Since October, the Colombian has been a regular at Liverpool’s home games, and his performance against Luton Town was no exception.
Luis Diaz wore short sleeves and gloves, as did his parents. During the 4-1 victory over the Hatters, the camera focused on Luis Manuel’s son, who scored 3-1 and ended Luton’s prospects.
Not only was the father Diaz wearing a Reds shirt like his son, but it was also short-sleeved, and he was humorously sporting gloves in Merseyside’s ten-degree temps.
Fans commented on Luis Díaz’s dad’s similar clothes, with one saying, “Luis Díaz dad is killing me, why he got short sleeves and gloves on like he’s playing,” and another adding, “Luis Diaz’s dad kitted and wearing gloves up in the exec box has done me.”
The scenes will stir the hearts of many, as the Diaz family faces a frightening finish to 2023.
Key Liverpool duo Salah and Nunez are out of the squad for the Luton game.
Luis Manuel and his wife were kidnapped in October, although the latter was released shortly after.
Luis Manuel had to wait 13 days for his release, and his kid missed games while the family dealt with the stress.
Just over a week after reuniting, the family was fortunate to witness their son score twice for Colombia in an incredible 2-1 victory over Brazil.
Since then, the family has spent a lot of time on Merseyside, and in December, Diaz senior was even seen in the away end applauding Trent Alexander-Arnold’s equaliser against Manchester City at the Etihad.
