Every year, Nike helps Kevin Durant honor his late Aunt Pearl, who unfortunately survived lung cancer two decades ago. The KD 15, in an all-pink colorway, proudly continues the tradition – and after a leak earlier in the year, official images of the shoe have finally surfaced.
Similar to last year’s installment, this pair is coated in two shades of pink, the darker of which is applied to the air zoom housing embedded into the midsole. The adjacent construction, alternating between mesh and suede, is finished in a much lighter touch, matched by details like the tongue patch and TPU cage. Some more elaborate, intricate features then round out the shoe: rosettes are lightly chiseled into the heel, the Swoosh has a unique design that resembles stained glass, and velvet helps with the tongue construction that wears the flower. Furthermore, the name of Aunt Pearl, of course, appears, sitting right on the right heel.
