The Netherlands Euro 2024 home kit has been released, and it is distinctive and decisive for the Dutch.
They’re one of the dark horses for Euro 2024, but Ronald Koeman’s men (yes, him again) are always one of the first teams we check for when an international shirt drops. After all, we’ve grown up with vibrant orange shirts, so it’s great to see one like this amid the other Euro 2024 uniforms.
It’s difficult to reinvent the wheel with the Oranje, but this one does just enough.
The Netherlands Euro 2024 home uniform strikes the ideal balance between traditional and innovative elements.
For the 2022 World Cup, Nike introduced a lighter shirt with a lion fur pattern in an effort to reinvent the wheel that is a simple, orange football shirt. Some bawled at first, but rationality eventually prevailed: it was a beauty, acknowledge it.
The American manufacturer could replicate the 1974 classic every two years and still have a hit. The new home shirt, on the other hand, is something special: it’s a stunning look that appears to have been done numerous times before, but it still feels fresh.
The Dutch don’t have as many blue home shirts as you might expect. The collar is rounded, similar to Cruyff’s greatest shirts, and the logo and sleeves include two tones of blue. Nonetheless, this does not come out as overly dramatic.
That is not to imply that this is an especially daring or controversial football shirt. Far from it – this is a straightforward upgrade to a classic. But, whisper it, that is all the Netherlands should ever have as their home kit. Why interfere with something that works so well?
This is a fantastic appearance for the Dutch; it always is.
