Liverpool is reportedly considering a stunning move for Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon, who has been one of the standout performers of the season. The 23-year-old forward, who came through Everton’s youth ranks, joined Newcastle in January 2023 for a reported initial fee of £40m. Since then, Gordon has impressed with his goal-scoring prowess, netting 12 times in 63 games. He has also made his debut for the England national team this season, potentially making him a candidate for the Euro 2024 squad. Despite having a contract until 2026, Newcastle may consider selling Gordon to balance their books. Liverpool’s interest is reportedly with their next manager in mind, with Arne Slot being the hot favorite to succeed Jurgen Klopp. 

To acquire Gordon, Liverpool would likely need to make an offer approaching £100m, which would secure a significant profit for Newcastle, surpassing double their initial investment from Everton less than 18 months ago.
