Before Arne Slot was granted the privilege of succeeding Jurgen Klopp, he had to fulfill six important requirements.
After reaching a compensation agreement with Feyenoord, Slot has signed a three-year contract with Liverpool and will formally take over on June 1. Instead of taking on the manager’s post, which Klopp had for over nine unforgettable years, he will become head coach.
The 45-year-old was identified as the Reds’ preferred candidate several weeks ago after an extensive search that included advanced data analysis, character and performance research, market assessment, performance evaluation, and various other indicators. His eagerness to start the job facilitated a prompt appointment.
The Athletic claims that the club’s decision-makers were searching for six essential attributes. They first desired a coach who could impart his or her own high-energy, possession-based style of football.
Secondly, the new individual must be ready to assume the role of head coach instead of manager. The role means he fits into the new football structure which has had an overhaul in the last few months with two former sporting directors – Michael Edwards and Julian Ward – returning to the fold as FSG’s chief executive of football and technical director respectively. Richard Hughes, the new sporting director, was hired from Bournemouth and will start work on June 1.
Getting your hands Ԁirty on the training field. Four, having the same level of success as Klopp and many of his predecessors in channeling the energy of Liverpool’s supporters.
Five: a track record of retaining players; six: players who get better. Liverpool was drawn to Slot because they think he has a track record of exceeding expectations at AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord by developing players and bringing out the best in them.
Klopp, who said in his departure address, “You welcome the new manager like you welcomed me,” is undoubtedly in favor of Slot. You commit fully from the start. And you never give up and keep motivating the group.
