Real Madrid is interested in midfielder Alexis Mac Allister of Liverpool. However, next year, the Spanish powerhouses are getting ready to make a move for the Argentine World Cup winner.
According to Argentine reports, Real and Liverpool have previously communicated, although Anfield has not received a formal offer.
Additionally, it’s believed that Mac Allister is the player the Spanish champions and Champions League finalists want to replace the departing midfielders Luka Modric and Toni Kroos at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Modric and Real are presently negotiating for Modric to stay in Madrid for an additional year.
The 39-year-old Croatian mastermind is reportedly content to take a pay cut in order to continue his tenure with the team for a 13th season.
Talks over a one-year extension that would keep Kroos at Real until 2025 are also ongoing between the two parties.
In a deal that may have cost up to £52 million, Mac Allister left Brighton to join Liverpool last year for an initial payment of £40 million.
His release clause, according to the Argentine press, is worth approximately £60 million, which Real Madrid or any other club might exercise.
For the Reds this season, Mac Allister has made 32 appearances in the Premier League and 45 matches overall.
He has contributed significantly to Jurgen Klopp’s revamped midfield, with five assists and four Premier League goals.
After the departures of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, and Naby Keita in the summer, Klopp was forced to assemble a whole new engine room.
