After ending his eight-year tenure at Anfield, Roberto Firmino wrote his first letter to Liverpool supporters. At the conclusion of his contract, the 32-year-old left and joined the plethora of well-known players making their way to the Saudi Pro League, where he hooked up with Al-Hilal.
During his tenure on Merseyside, the Brazilian had a unique relationship with the Liverpool fans and was frequently serenaded with his hit song.
Firmino announced on Instagram that Reds supporters could read his new book, “Si Senor: My Liverpool Years,” which is aptly named, which retells the story of his time at Anfield. ‘There’s something I want you to know,’ the forward said, opening his message with a riff from the opening of his famous song.
Firmino has plenty of material for the project that documents his trophy-filled tenure with the Reds, which started in the summer of 2015 under head coach Brendan Rodgers. After just a few months of that campaign, the Northern Irishman was fired and replaced by Jurgen Klopp, who allowed the Brazilian to thrive.
Firmino played in 362 games, contributing 79 assists and 111 goals to one of the most formidable trios in world football. In addition to winning the League Cup, FA Cup, and Premier League Champions League, he also scored the game-winning goal in extra time of the 2020 FIFA World Club Cup, helping the Reds win the trophy for the first time.
The former forward for Hoffenheim has adjusted to life in the Gulf State very well, scoring five goals in nine games to lead his team to the top of the league standings.
