Coach Jurgen Klopp has agreed to his first major project since officially parting ways with Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season.
The German coach departed Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season after nine years with the Merseyside club.
Although Klopp may return to coaching in the near future, his management team, Project MJK, has announced a partnership with the global sports marketing company SPORTFIVE.
Coach Jurgen Klopp is expected to serve as a commercial and marketing representative for SPORTFIVE over the next three years, with the global brand presence of the former Liverpool coach, particularly in Asia and the United States, being strengthened as part of the agreement.
Klopp’s newly launched personal Instagram account last month is believed to be part of this deal aimed at enhancing his global reach.
Mike Jaggle, CEO of MJK, said: “We are very pleased with this collaboration. SPORTFIVE’s industry-leading experience and global infrastructure will allow us to expand our footprint while exploring innovative opportunities outside of Germany.”
Meanwhile, Philipp Hasenbein, CEO of SPORTFIVE, added: “Jurgen Klopp epitomizes excellence, counsel, emotional intelligence, leadership, and long-term vision. His values align perfectly with ours.”
In another development, Ron Wiegand, Senior Vice President of Global Team and Athlete Marketing at SPORTFIVE, said: “We are proud to have Project MJK and Jurgen Klopp on board.”
Klopp won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, Community Shield, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup during his time at Liverpool.
During the club’s 2019/20 Premier League-winning season, Klopp’s Liverpool became the fastest team to reach 30 wins and broke the 100-point mark.
