The Uruguay national team seems to have given Darwin Nunez a great new nickname after he scored a hat-trick in Uruguay’s 4-0 win over Mexico

Before the match against Uruguay, Mexico left their fans uneasy as they showed inconsistent form. In their last 6 matches, the team nicknamed El Tri secured 3 wins but also suffered as many defeats. Notably, in all 3 of those losses, Mexico conceded at least 2 goals.

On the other hand, Uruguay appeared to be in strong form. Excluding friendly matches, the South American representative, a 2-time World Cup champion, is on a 3-game winning streak, all in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

In the fоllоwing periоd, Mexicо’s defense cоntinued tо have a disappоinting оuting as Nunez scоred twо mоre gоals in the 44th and 49th minutes, cоmpleting his hat-trιck and sealing a 4-0 victоry fоr Uruguay.

Mexico have one more friendly match, against Brazil on June 9th. Surely, they will strive to have the best possible preparation before entering the 2024 Copa America.
