Mohamed Salah showcased his top-class quality in Egypt’s victory in the World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
Egypt hosted Burkina Faso at home in the African zone qualifiers for the World Cup 2026. Mahmoud Trezeguet emerged as the standout performer for the home team, scoring a brace to secure a 2-1 win.
The victory further solidified the strength of Mohamed Salah and his teammates in Group A. Under the guidance of coach Hossam Hassan, Egypt accumulated 9 points from 3 matches, leading the group convincingly.
While Salah didn’t score against Burkina Faso, he demonstrated his brilliance with an assist that led to Trezeguet’s opening goal in the 3rd minute. Not stopping there, Salah made his mark just three minutes later. Receiving the ball from the midfield, the Liverpool winger assessed his teammates’ movements before delivering a precise trivela pass. Unfortunately, his former AS Roma teammate couldn’t convert the chance into a goal, despite a skillful and impressive attempt to beat the defenders.
In recent days, Salah has also attracted attention for his new appearance, having shaved his head during the national team’s gathering in June.
