In the 1st half, we’ve witnessed an exciting situation as Pedri had a header near the goal. However, Italy’s goalkeeper Donnarumma displayed excellent reflexes, preventing the ball from entering the net. This was certainly a good opportunity for Spain, but they were unable to capitalize on it successfully.
Soon after, Morata made a very favorable cross for his teammate Nico Williams to head the ball near the goal. This was a golden chance for Spain to break the deadlock, but once again, the ball narrowly missed the post. Situations like these must have left the Spanish players feeling regretful, as they created dangerous opportunities but failed to convert them.
In the 37th minute, Fabian Ruiz demonstrated his power with a long-range shot. The ball was struck with venom, but once again, Donnarumma made an impressive save. This was certainly a remarkable performance from the AC Milan goalkeeper. He has been displaying excellent concentration, rendering the shooting attempts of Spain futile.
At the end of the first half, the score remains 0-0 between Spain and Italy. This is a somewhat surprising temporary result, as Spain were rated higher in terms of their squad.
However, they have not yet been able to overcome the solidity of Italy’s defensive organization. The second half of this match will surely be very captivating.
