Since coming in Germany, the Portuguese superstar has become the focus of attention. Thousands of supporters packed the stadium during the team’s first training session last week to see CR7. During the day’s training session, one fan hopped over the barrier onto the pitch to hug the veteran striker.

Before the opening match against the Czech Republic, C. Ronaldo posted a video message of victory to the fans and the whole team. He wrote: “Portugal, today begins another chapter in our history. I still remember my first day with the national team, a journey full of challenges and victories. Now I have the honor of standing in the ranks of the team of champions with talent and determination. With everyone’s strength and support, we can make our dreams come true. Let’s fight together for another victory. United we cannot be stopped. Go Portugal”.

In the match against the Czech Republic early this morning (Hanoi time), the striker born in 1985 started the match, setting a record of playing in 6 consecutive Euro tournaments. He showed his excitement by sprinting to the Czech side of the field before his team even kicked off. “That man is so excited,” wrote a fan. Another commented: “What is he doing? Does he think he’s at the Olympics?”

However, C. Ronaldo did not get the match he desired. He had numerous opportunities to score but missed them all. Portugal conceded another goal in the middle of the second half despite dominating possession. Seven minutes later, CR7 and his teammates equalised on an own goal by Czech Republic’s Robin Hranac. The side dubbed as “Europe’s Brazil” eventually prevailed when Francisco Conceicao, a rookie player who had just entered the game, scored the winning goal to make it 2-1.
