Liverpool lost their first game with new boss Arne Slot in charge.
The Dutchman replaced Jurgen Klopp as head coach at Anfield on a three-year deal from Feyenoord. He started his job as head coach on June 1.
Slot and his backroom staff put a lot of players through their paces after they got back from vacation last week, marking the start of the new era at Anfield.
And getting ready for the new season got even better on Friday, when Liverpool played a game against Preston from the Championship behind closed doors at the AXA Training Centre.
The Reds lost by a score of 1-0. Robbie Brady scored the game’s only goal from far away.
