‘I want to quit the club if you continue doing this’, Man Utd main star warning Ten Hag

Erik ten Hag was taken aback when a Manchester United player informed the club’s board of directors that he wants to leave the club this summer.

Man United seems to be undergoing significant changes this summer. Ten Hag intends to radically overhaul his striker options, with Anthony Martial on the verge of being moved. Loanee Wout Weghorst might become United’s permanent replacement, albeit the club will still need to buy a world-class striker. Ten Hag is reported to prefer Harry Kane, although there is also interest in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos.

Another position that might be filled this summer is midfield. Ian Wright has lauded loanee Marcel Sabitzer, who is undoubtedly being considered for a long-term transfer. Ten Hag also likes Brighton’s Alexis MacAllister and Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse.

The acquisition of a new midfielder by Manchester United might have far-reaching ramifications. According to Football Insider, Scott McTominay has warned the club that if they bring in a new player in his position, he would try to leave in the summer, which is precisely what Ten Hag is aiming to accomplish.

According to the report, McTominay has gone over his manager’s head and directly to the Man United board. He does not want to slide lower down the pecking order, therefore he has vowed to ‘leave’ the club if a new midfielder is signed.

The Scotland international is nearing the end of his career and would want to be playing regular Premier League action rather than warming the bench. He supposedly sees the addition of another midfielder as a “major Ԁɑ𝚗ɡег” to his playing time and career in general.

McTominay’s decision comes after Manchester United bought Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Sabitzer last summer.

McTominay, 26, has made 34 appearances in all competitions this season. Ten Hag has frequently brought the player off the bench to replace one of his first-choice midfielders, therefore not all of these have been starts.

Scott McTominay may find a new club

McTominay has made a significant choice. He has spent his whole professional career with Manchester United, having graduated from their academy in 2017.

McTominay will be at ease at Manchester United since he is so familiar with the club. But, he seems to be putting his profession first, which might lead to a move after the season.

After learning of McTominay’s intention to leave, teams further down the Premier League standings will be on high alert. But, he may end up competing with Manchester United for top-four finishes in the future.

Newcastle United is interested in the 38-cap international, according to several sources. Eddie Howe is said to be a great admirer of McTominay and wants to bring him to Saint James’ Park.

Newcastle already has solid midfield options, including Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, Sean Longstaff, and Joe Willock.

McTominay, on the other hand, will be more certain of making Newcastle’s starting eleven than Manchester United’s, particularly as Ten Hag does not appear to rank him as highly as Howe.
