Pre-Match
Gravenberch gets a start against Manchester United in South Carolina. The front three consists of Mohamed Salah, Fabio Carvalho, and Diogo Jota. The temperature is a pleasant 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The players look great in their black and white outfits.
In the first half, Carvalho scored against Manchester United in the 10th minute, adding to his impressive pre-season showing. He completed the most of the work to create space for the shot with his left foot, which tucked cleanly into the far corner.
United had a few good chances in the quarter-hour after Liverpool’s opening goal. Fortunately, Kelleher was up for the challenge against both Mason Mount and Marcus Rashford.
However, Liverpool strikes again before the interval. Salah pulled away from his man on the right and fired a shot that flew well past the goal. Wan-Bassaka will happily give Curtis Jones credit for the goal.
Harvey Elliott looked quite good in the first half, playing in the most advanced midfield position. We adore this for him.
Second Half
The second half began with Kelleher replaced by Vitezslav Jaros, a Czech custodian. Ibrahima Konaté, meanwhile, gave way to Sepp van den Berg.
To begin the second half, Jaros made a nice save on a simple shot on goal. Trey Nyoni replaced goalscorer Jones.
Even Kostas Tsimikas joined in on the action on what has turned out to be a very successful night for the Reds. His third goal came off a rebound after Jota’s attempt was blocked by the custodian.
Manchester United dominated the final 10 minutes of regular time, going on Liverpool’s academy players in search of a goal. This resulted in a lot of free kicks but no real threat from the less outstanding red team.
Final Thoughts
players had another strong performance! weeks and two friendlies remain before the real thing begins.
