Declan Rice has been honored with a custom pair of adidas boots to mark his 50th England cap, a gesture celebrated with the help of Three Lions legend Frank Lampard. The Arsenal midfielder, who is set to captain the team against Belgium in place of Harry Kane and Kyle Walker, received the special boots as part of the celebration of this milestone.
The adidas Copa boots, designed specifically for Rice, feature the colors of the England flag—red, white, and blue. They also include a “50 caps” inscription and the national flag on the soleplate. Lampard, who earned 106 caps during his international career, was present to present the boots and discuss Rice’s achievement with him.
Lampard praised Rice’s accomplishment, stating, “Declan shouldn’t underestimate this achievement. Every child dreams of representing their country, so reaching 50 caps is a remarkable feat. I’m looking forward to seeing how this summer unfolds for him and the team heading into the Euros.”
Rice, who is only 25, acknowledged the significance of reaching this milestone. He commented, “Reaching 50 caps is a huge achievement for me. Those who know me understand how much playing for my country means, so hitting this mark is incredible. I’m excited to wear these new boots to commemorate the occasion.”
Although Rice’s captaincy is currently temporary, he plans to use his leadership to influence fellow Arsenal teammate Ben White, who had withdrawn from the March friendlies. Rice intends to speak with White in hopes of encouraging him to reconsider his decision.
