On the club’s official website, Arsenal has confirmed the permanent sale of Charlie Patino to Deportivo de La Coruna, with the Gunners reportedly receiving £1.8 million in transfer fees.
Charlie Patino joined Arsenal’s youth academy in 2015 and was highly regarded for his potential. The 20-year-old has played across various youth levels for the Gunners but has struggled to secure a spot in the first team.
He was loaned out to Blackpool and Swansea City, where he showed glimpses of his ability, but it wasn’t enough to impress Mikel Arteta. Realizing that opportunities at the Emirates were limited, Patino expressed his desire to move elsewhere for more playing time. Arsenal were also willing to facilitate Patino’s search for a new club.
Recently, Arsenal confirmed on their website the permanent transfer of Charlie Patino to Deportivo de La Coruna, with the club said to be receiving £1.8 million for the move. They stated: “We thank Patino for his contributions during his time with Arsenal and wish him all the best in this new chapter of his career with Deportivo de La Coruna.”
Deportivo de La Coruna is currently competing in La Liga 2. Despite not being a regular at Arsenal, Patino is still considered a talented player and is expected to be a valuable addition to the Spanish team.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Eddie Nketiah is also preparing to leave Arsenal. Personal terms between Eddie Nketiah and Crystal Palace have been agreed upon. Arsenal has also accepted the offer from the partner, which includes a £25 million fee plus £5 million in add-ons.
