Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk spends the majority of his time off enjoying himself at Wimbledon

While many Premier League players have returned to training, Virgil van Dijk is still enjoying some time off.

Last season, the centre defender helped Liverpool win the Champions League before representing Holland in the Nations League, where they came second to Portugal.d63d326b9bbf3b912004aa849344f63dc108cf7f.jpg

When asked about the games he planned to see at Wimbledon, Van Dijk stated, “I’ve seen some games on TV in the last couple of days, and to be here now, I think it’s something special, and I’m looking forward to the games today. It’s going to be a good day.”

He said, ‘It’s pretty good. Hopefully, I can just enjoy the games, have a drink, and relax.

Van Dijk was also asked about how tennis players must deal on their own whereas footballers may rely on the support of their teammates.

He stated: “Sometimes I get help from my teammates, but they (tennis players) have to do it on their own.” They certainly have a wonderful trainer cheering them on from the stands, but it’s all about them.

Liverpool begin their pre-season schedule on Thursday night against Tranmere Rovers, with Van Dijk set to return to Melwood shortly.
