Liverpool have finalized a deal with Juventus for the transfer of Federico Chiesa, pending international clearance.
The 26-year-old forward has completed his medical and signed a long-term contract, and he is now set to join Liverpool’s squad.
Chiesa, who has earned 51 caps for Italy and participated in Euro 2024, will join Liverpool after four seasons and 131 appearances with Juventus.
“I’m thrilled to be a Liverpool player,” Chiesa told Liverpoolfc.com. “When Richard Hughes called me and asked if I wanted to join Liverpool, and the coach also reached out, I immediately said yes. I am aware of this club’s rich history and what it means to its fans.”
Chiesa began his career at Fiorentina’s youth academy, making his senior debut against Juventus in Serie A at the age of 18 during the 2016-17 season.
He played 153 games for Fiorentina, scoring 34 goals, before moving to Juventus in October 2020 on a loan deal that became permanent in May 2022.
In his first season with Juventus, Chiesa scored the winning goal in the 2021 Coppa Italia final against Atalanta. However, he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury that kept him out for nearly 10 months.
Upon his return, Chiesa had his best season at Juventus in terms of league appearances, playing 33 games and scoring 10 goals in 37 total matches, earning a second Coppa Italia title.
Internationally, Chiesa was a key player in Italy’s Euro 2020 victory, featuring in all seven matches and scoring twice. He also played four times for Italy at Euro 2024.
Chiesa now heads to Anfield as Liverpool’s second signing under Arne Slot, following the recent agreement to bring Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia for the 2025-26 season.
