Former Arsenal defender Rob Holding has removed all references to Crystal Palace from his social media accounts after being sidelined from first-team training and relegated to individual sessions. Since joining Palace last year, Holding has made only one appearance and has fallen further down the pecking order with the recent signings of Chadi Riad, Maxence Lacroix, and Trevoh Chalobah.
Holding has struggled with injuries since his move to Selhurst Park, and it appears he is no longer part of manager Oliver Glasner’s plans. Glasner confirmed that Holding is currently training alone, and stated that the reasons behind this decision are private and will remain between them.
Arsenal fans have expressed their sympathy for Holding, who left the Gunners seeking more playing time. Reactions from fans include comments like: “It’s a shame how it’s worked out for him. Say what you will about his level, but he never hid, unlike a lot of people he had to share a pitch with,” and “He’s a decent centre-back. Surely some lower Premier League club will be interested in him?” Another fan added, “I hate hearing this. He deserves to find a good home.”
