HARVEY ELLIOTT has reportedly exacerbated Arne Slot’s injury woes by fracturing his foot.
Liverpool is already concerned about the fitness of Curtis Jones and Alexis Mac Allister ahead of their match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Unfortunately, it appears that Elliott will also be unavailable for the foreseeable future.
According to The Times, Elliott sustained the injury while on international duty with England’s Under-21s, despite not playing in their recent fixtures against Northern Ireland and Austria, which ended in a 0-0 draw and a 4-1 victory, respectively.
The 21-year-old returned to Liverpool for further evaluation after experiencing discomfort in his foot, and it has been reported that he will be sidelined for six weeks.
Liverpool has not yet confirmed Elliott’s injury, which comes at a challenging time as they prepare to kick off their Champions League campaign against AC Milan next Tuesday.
New Liverpool manager Arne Slot has started his tenure with a perfect record, with his team yet to concede a goal. Slot appears to have seamlessly continued the strong performance from the previous season under Jurgen Klopp.
Elliott had previously expressed confidence in Slot, saying, “I feel like there’s a great connection between the staff and players. We all share the same goals and are working towards them. They aim to make us the best players we can be.”
He added, “We just need to trust his guidance, his style of play, and the information he provides. He’s in charge, and hopefully, he can lead us to success.”
