Jorginho recently made a special appearance at an Arsenal in the Community (Holiday Activities and Food) programme held at the No More Red pitch in King’s Square, Islington. The Arsenal midfielder took part in a coaching session, actively engaging with the young participants. At the end of the session, he selected his standout player and presented each participant with a signed football and a bag.
The Positive Futures programme, a collaboration with Islington Council, has been running for 20 years. It provides free football sessions across six local estates every week, offering a secure environment for young people outside school hours. The programme not only focuses on football but also provides positive role models and support for participants beyond the pitch.
Sessions are available at no cost to children aged 8 to 16, with over 500 young people benefiting annually. During the summer, the programme includes short courses on local estates, where children enjoy football sessions from 10am to 3pm, with a free lunch provided each day.
