It seems almost meant to be that Mikel Merino would one day join Arsenal, especially when looking back at childhood photos of him proudly wearing our jersey!
Upon signing his contract, Mikel’s family shared a series of images showing him in an Arsenal kit from his youth. It was a joy for him to recreate those moments nearly two decades later as he realized his dream of playing for the club.
“It’s amazing how life turns out sometimes!” he chuckled. “My dad was a footballer, so I had shirts from the teams he played for, but never from other teams. One holiday, my parents surprised me with a full Arsenal kit. I was ecstatic and took photos as if I were a pro, feeling like the star of the show!”
Now, looking back from achieving his childhood dream of playing for a major club, it’s remarkable how far he’s come since those old photos.
