Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich is closely monitoring Alisson Becker’s situation. The 31-year-old Liverpool goalkeeper has been linked to a potentially lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, possibly at the end of the season. Bayern, facing fitness issues with their No. 1 Manuel Neuer, is also interested but would need to invest significantly to secure Alisson next summer.
Kompany, who previously managed Burnley, has a strong admiration for Alisson from his time in England and might pursue a bold move for him after the current campaign.
Liverpool is preparing for the possibility of Alisson’s departure and has already signed Giorgi Mamardashvili, a 23-year-old goalkeeper from Valencia, who will join them permanently next year.
Alisson arrived at Liverpool from Roma in a £67 million deal in 2018 and has been a key figure, instilling confidence in goal. Under Jürgen Klopp, he played a pivotal role in the club’s success, including winning their first Premier League title in 30 years in 2020, as well as the FA Cup, EFL Cup, and Champions League. Over six years at Liverpool, he has made 269 appearances and has played six times this season.
If Alisson does leave, Liverpool manager Arne Slot may rely on Caoimhin Kelleher as a backup option.
