Footballer Andy Carroll and his Towie star wife, Billi Mucklow, are heading for divorce after two rocky years of marriage. The couple, who have three children together, quietly ended their relationship in July. While 35-year-old Andy has recently signed with French club Bordeaux, 36-year-old Billi has stayed behind in their Essex home.
This split follows a scandal from Andy’s stag do, where he was infamously photographed passed out with two women. Friends have revealed that they filed for divorce earlier this month, marking the end of their 11-year relationship.
In a statement, Andy, known for his time with Newcastle and Liverpool, said, “Billi and I privately separated earlier this year and are currently navigating our divorce. It’s been a tough few months for our family, but we’re committed to co-parenting amicably for the sake of our kids.”
Sources indicate that despite their separation, the pair still care for each other and want to maintain a respectful dynamic as they focus on parenting. Andy has been channeling his energy into football during this period.
The couple got engaged in 2014 and wed at the luxurious Four Seasons in Hampshire in June 2022. Their wedding was almost derailed after the stag do incident, which led Billi to briefly remove her £200,000 engagement ring. However, she later reconciled with Andy after one of the women involved assured her that nothing inappropriate occurred.
Together, they share three children, aged nine, six, and four, while Andy also has two older kids from a previous relationship. Reflecting on family life, he acknowledged the challenges of balancing his football career with his role as a father, expressing gratitude for the opportunities but also highlighting the sacrifices involved.
Billi rose to fame on “The Only Way Is Essex,” joining the reality show in its third series in 2011 before leaving in 2013 to pursue a career as a Bikram Yoga teacher and social media influencer.
Andy has often made headlines for his controversial past, which includes various legal troubles and altercations. He began his professional career with Newcastle United in 2006 and made waves with a record £35 million transfer to Liverpool in 2011. He earned nine caps for England between 2010 and 2012 and has played for several clubs, including West Ham and, more recently, Bordeaux.
