Darwin Nunez, Liverpool’s striker, revealed his partner’s pregnancy after celebrating his goal against Aston Villa on Saturday night.

The Uruguayan opened the scoring at Anfield, rounding Emiliano Martinez and shooting into the net. Mohamed Salah then added a second for Liverpool late on, putting Arne Slot’s side five points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Nunez, who should have added to his tally before the break, celebrated his goal by sucking his thumb and putting the ball up his top, and he confirmed the news on Instagram on Sunday with an emotional post.
Nunez posted pictures with partner Lorena Manas and scans of the baby, writing: “Words cannot express the happiness we feel for this new life we have created together, our family grows, your brothers and parents are waiting for you with the utmost excitement to give you all the love in the world.”
The duo has been together since Nunez began his career in Spain with La Liga club Almeria. Lorena, who also has a daughter with former Barcelona player Aleix Vidal, gave birth to her first child with Nunez in 2022.
