It wouldn’t be surprising if Liverpool’s network of Dutch talent scouts grows now that a Dutch coach is at the helm.
To be fair, the Reds already feature two outstanding Dutch players: Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch. Xavi Simons, a Dutch sensation, needs no introduction. His stints with PSV Eindhoven and RB Leipzig highlight his talent, attracting interest from Liverpool and other top European clubs.
The 21-year-old, currently contracted to PSG, is on loan at RB Leipzig this season. According to Bild journalist Yvonne Gabriel, the £67.4 million star prefers to remain with the Bundesliga side despite the interest from Merseyside. Here are three reasons why Simons is a valuable target for Liverpool.

Bundesliga expert Christiane Falk referred to Simons, Florian Wirtz, and Jamal Musiala as a “gem.” Recent reports confirm Liverpool’s interest and express Falk’s insights.
“Unlike Wirtz, he is more inclined to join the Premier League. Musiala might be accompanied by three more transfer treasures next year.

Moreover, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano of The Daily Briefing predicts that Xavi Simons will depart PSG in the summer of 2025. Where will PSG’s Xavi Simons play next season? “Xavi has a strong chance of leaving PSG permanently in 2025, but no agreement has been reached with Liverpool or any other club yet.”
Liverpool can attempt to sign Xavi Simons eventually, even though Romano states there is no deal in place, as he may exit the French champions. Perhaps Arne Slot can convince the Dutch star that Anfield is the ideal destination for him next.

Simons would seamlessly fit into Slot’s setup. He could challenge or replace Dominik Szoboszlai in the number 10 role. The Hungarian has a unique style, and Liverpool would benefit from having a Dutchman who finds the net more frequently.
How Liverpool approaches the pursuit of the 21-year-old remains to be seen. Xavi Simons will have to decide, and ideally, he will choose Liverpool as his next club.
