Throughout his 20-year career, David Beckham has become a style icon for the Predator range. Even after retirement, he aimed to create a boot that would be uniquely his own. “We’re always looking to innovate in the world of football, and what better way to do so than with one of our iconic boot partners,” says Sam Handy, adidas’ Vice President of Product and Design.
Adidas decided to grant Beckham creative control, as his influence has significantly impacted the Predator 24. After two years of development, Beckham and adidas launched the Predator 24 – a modern boot with a classic twist. For the first time, the Predator boot features the iconic adidas trefoil logo, embroidered on the Fusionskin tongue.
To honor Beckham’s deep connection with the Predator brand, adidas allowed him full creative freedom, enabling him to realize his vision through the adidas lens.
Two years in the making, the Predator 24 is a contemporary interpretation of the classic design. During the design process, Beckham implemented several notable upgrades, including the first-ever integration of adidas’ iconic trefoil logo on a Predator boot. Beckham described having the logo on the boot as a significant breakthrough.
The adidas trefoil appears on various details of the Predator 24 – from the outsole and laces to the iconic three stripes. Notably, the logo is prominently embroidered on the Predator’s signature fold-over tongue, crafted from premium Fusionskin leather instead of the typical rubber.
Players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Paulo Dybala, Rodrigo De Paul, and Alessia Russo will wear the boot in the coming weeks. The accompanying fashion collection emphasizes the adidas trefoil logo, featuring a 1970s style reminiscent of legendary designer Wales Bonner’s signature look – a fitting tribute considering the impressive collaborations between Wales Bonner and adidas over the years.
2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the adidas Predator, and the brand has released classic-inspired designs and limited editions. However, the standout highlight is the Beckham-endorsed Predator 24.
