Napoli are reportedly preparing to pursue Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho as they aim to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this month, according to various reports.
Kvaratskhelia, who has also garnered interest from Liverpool, is expected to move to Paris Saint-Germain after informing Antonio Conte of his desire to leave.
As per Sport Italia, Conte has pinpointed Garnacho as his top choice to fill the gap left by Kvaratskhelia, and United is said to have established their asking price.
It is believed that the 20-year-old could be available for a transfer worth €50 million (£42 million) after falling out of favor with new manager Ruben Amorim.
Garnacho has been on the bench for the last five matches and was entirely omitted from United’s win over Manchester City, alongside the departing Marcus Rashford.
According to Mail Sport, United is open to offers for nearly all their players, including previously untouchable talents Kobbie Mainoo and Garnacho.
Napoli is reportedly looking to sign Garnacho from Manchester United.
Antonio Conte has targeted Garnacho as the ideal replacement for Kvaratskhelia.
Kvaratskhelia is anticipated to join Paris Saint-Germain after expressing his desire to leave to Conte.
The club is urgently trying to generate revenue to adhere to the Premier League’s stringent profit and sustainability regulations. Under these rules, homegrown players are valued at 100 percent profit and approximately four times more than their non-homegrown counterparts.
Consequently, the market value of Mainoo and Garnacho has surged to a level that even a club of United’s stature finds hard to overlook.
While United would prefer to retain both players, particularly with Rashford likely to depart this month, they would rather sell Garnacho if given a choice.
The winger has had difficulty adapting to Amorim’s 3-4-3 system and hasn’t started a game since the 3-2 loss to Nottingham Forest on December 7.
Garnacho has netted 23 goals in 115 appearances since breaking into United’s first team.
However, Amorim has expressed a desire to keep the young talent.
“I truly value my players. I want to retain them, especially the gifted ones,” said Amorim. “It’s a unique time for this club; although it’s challenging, I’m pleased with Kobbie’s progress and with Garna.
“Our goal is always to retain the best players we’re developing for this club.
“We understand the club’s current situation, but we will see. I’m very content; I appreciate our players, particularly those from our academy.”
It is reported that the only United players currently not available for sale are Leny Yoro, a £59 million summer signing, and Amad Diallo, who has recently signed a new contract.
