During a training break with Marcelo Bielsa’s Uruguay national team, Darwin Núñez visited Peñarol’s training facility and caught up with an old teammate.
Darwin Núñez, the Liverpool striker, took advantage of some free time to visit his former club Peñarol on Wednesday. This visit was highlighted on his social media, where he shared images posted by two current players from the black and gold squad.
“The 9 is visiting his house,” one left-footed defender noted in a post.
Núñez also celebrated Uruguay’s recent victory over Colombia in the qualifiers.
Marcelo Bielsa, however, lost a member of the national squad ahead of their upcoming match against Brazil on Tuesday.
Defender Javier Méndez took a photo with Núñez and shared it, expressing gratitude: “You are a wonderful friend; thank you very much for taking the time to come to your house.”
Núñez also shared a moment with Franco Martínez, a former Peñarol teammate who now plays for Jorge Wilstermann. Martínez expressed his joy, saying, “Happy to see you, brother.”
