It follows Rashford’s decision to decline the opportunity to become the highest-paid English player ever.
MARCUS RASHFORD is reportedly at the center of a dramatic swap deal involving Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
The £60million-valued Manchester United star has rejected three lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia, each offering up to £675,000 per week, as he focuses on earning back his place in the England squad.
Marcus Rashford is anticipated to leave Manchester United in the upcoming January window.
Victor Osimhen could potentially be part of a swap deal with Rashford.
A transfer to another European club may provide Rashford with the platform needed to revive his career, as Napoli’s Antonio Conte is reportedly interested in acquiring the unsettled Manchester United forward.
United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, facing pressure to strengthen his squad, is keen to take advantage of Conte’s interest in Rashford, 27, which could enable United to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian forward, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has a £62m release clause and could make a move to Old Trafford this month. Osimhen has an impressive record, netting 65 goals in 108 Serie A matches for Napoli since joining from Lille in 2020.
Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen to reunite with Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyökeres but has vowed not to sign players from his former club until at least summer.
The Portuguese manager has been grappling with a lack of goalscorers, having sidelined Rashford due to concerns about his “standards” prior to United’s 2-1 Premier League derby win against Manchester City on December 15.
Rashford has since missed five consecutive games as United struggles, suffering three straight league losses, leaving them in 14th place and flirting with relegation.
Meanwhile, the forward has turned down record-breaking offers from Saudi clubs that would more than double his £315,000 weekly wage to an astonishing £675,000, opting instead to focus on his European career.
Rashford has fallen out of favor with manager Ruben Amorim in recent weeks.
Catching the attention of new England boss Thomas Tuchel is a priority for the 60-cap forward, who hasn’t played for the national team since March.
Despite stating in December he is open to “a new challenge,” he has not ruled out remaining at Old Trafford, where he is under contract until 2028.
The club would benefit from a significant windfall for homegrown Rashford as they aim to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules and provide Amorim with funds to reshape the squad.
United had shown interest in Osimhen last summer, while potential moves to Chelsea and Saudi Arabia fell through.
That £35m-a-year offer is nearly 70 percent more than the £400,000 weekly salary that England captain Harry Kane, 31, earns at Bayern Munich.
Three Saudi clubs have made offers.
Victor Osimhen’s exile under Antonio Conte at Napoli led to his loan to Galatasaray, but Napoli remains second in Serie A, with Rashford’s former Manchester United teammates Romelu Lukaku and Scott McTominay playing pivotal roles at the club.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford is actively looking for a transfer this January, with SunSport reporting he is in talks with sports agency Stellar to facilitate the move. The agency may work with Rashford’s brother, Dwaine Maynard, to negotiate a deal.
However, Bayern Munich has already turned down an agreement with Rashford, and Juventus has been put off by his wages, shifting their focus to United’s Joshua Zirkzee, whom they aim to sign on loan.
