For the first time since his transfer scandal, Marcus Rashford was spotted practicing with Manchester United, appearing to be in good spirits.
Last month, Rashford’s admission that he seeks “a new challenge” reportedly piqued interest from several European clubs, hinting at a possible January exit.
Despite this, Ruben Amorim utilized the 27-year-old in his penultimate session ahead of Rangers’ Europa League clash at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Reports indicate that Rashford has been attending more training sessions during his nine-match absence, with no previous photographs taken of him during this time.
Rashford has missed nine games for United, with the team suffering five losses in those matches.
Additionally, an exclusive report from SunSport states that Rashford is determined to defend his position. Sources close to the striker suggest he is prepared and eager to play against Rangers if called upon.
However, Dwaine Maynard, Rashford’s agent and brother, was seen meeting with Barcelona executives in Lisbon on Wednesday. The England international hasn’t played since facing Viktoria Plzen in early December.
Although he was included in the squad for the December 30 match against Newcastle, he did not feature. Due to his training performances, Amorim opted to bench the 27-year-old during United’s 2-1 win over rivals Man City in December.
Despite this, Rashford is ready to give his all and has no issues with Amorim, who reinforced his stance against the homegrown talent after benching him again during Sunday’s 3-1 defeat to Brighton.
“It is his choice (not to play),” the manager stated, describing his team as “the worst in Manchester United’s history.” He added, “Rashford wasn’t present in the games we lost, so I don’t want to dwell on this negative moment. I don’t want to blame Rashford for this. He’s out because he’s not playing. Regardless, I will not field a player I don’t believe is best for the team.”
The Old Trafford winger has also been linked to potential transfers. However, the Serie A club’s long-standing interest in Rashford may wane due to Kyle Walker’s impending move to Milan.

On Wednesday morning, Antony, rumored for a loan to Real Betis, trained as usual, alongside Alejandro Garnacho, who is a target for Chelsea and Napoli, and Kobbie Mainoo, linked to Bayern.
Victor Lindelof made his return for the first time since storming down the tunnel following the Carabao Cup loss to Spurs in December, while Jonny Evans, Mason Mount, and Luke Shaw were absent.
