Man Utd’s Rashford faces race to recover from groin ɪɴᴊᴜʀʏ for Europa League semis

Marcus Rashford’s ɪɴᴊᴜʀʏ will be fully ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟᴇᴅ to Manchester United on Monday.

The club’s 28-goal leading scorer left the game in the closing stages of their 2-0 victory over Everton on Saturday due to what is thought to be a groin ɪɴᴊᴜʀʏ.

Marcus Rashford went off with an ɪɴᴊᴜʀʏ in the win over Everton.

He will probably miss the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinal matchup between Sevilla and Manchester United on Thursday at Old Trafford.

However, there is concern that he might be out for a few weeks.

Rashford pulled up as he reached for a pass from Christian Eriksen in his 350th game for the team.

He immediately gave the bench the signal that he needed to leave, and in the 81st minute, he was replaced.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Man Utd, appeared worried following the game.

We must wait, Ten Hag said. He appears unwell.

The Dutchman attributed the ɪɴᴊᴜʀʏ to the United team’s schedule of games.

He was dissatisfied that the Red Devils were scheduled for a Saturday 12.30 p.m. kickoff and late Sunday afternoon games at Newcastle and Brentford.

He said: “This was avoidable. All science and research tell you players need a certain time to recover.

“It is also part of the schedule that we are now finding ourselves in this situation and now we can only pray he is not dropping off.”

Rashford has appeared in 52 games this year for both his club and his nation.

He recently withdrew due to an ɪɴᴊᴜʀʏ from the England team for their Euros doubleheader against Italy and Uᴋʀᴀɪɴᴇ.

During that time, he took a vacation to New York, which according to Ten Hag was beneficial for him to completely disengage from football for a while.

If Rashford is out for a few weeks, Anthony Martial, who recently made his return from ɪɴᴊᴜʀʏ, will be given more attention.

On Saturday, he entered the game as a substitute for the third time in a row and scored his first goal since February 1.

Eric Bailly’s Marseille transfer ‘OVER’ with on-loan Man Utd defender not expected to play another game

The 28-year-old left Erik ten Hag’s favor in August and signed a season-long loan with Marseille.

Bailly is expected to leave Marseille at the end of the season.

His current contract has an obligation to ᴘᴜʀᴄʜᴀsᴇ clause worth £8.4 million that will become active if he makes 19 Ligue 1 appearances and Marseille advances to the Champions League.

La Provence, a French publication, reports that Bailly is not anticipated to achieve that goal.

Only 11 league appearances have been made by the defender for the Olympians so far this year.

Additionally, he is not anticipated to participate in the majority of the team’s nine remaining Ligue 1 contests.

The preferred presence in the center of Igor Tudor’s defense is Leonardo Balerdi.

At the end of the season, Bailly is now anticipated to rejoin Manchester United.

But as of right now, Ten Hag has no plans for him prior to the 2023–24 season.

Several players, including the Ivory Coast international, are expected to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams, Alex Telles, and Anthony Martial are just a few of the players who are anticipated to leave.

Dean Henderson and Scott McTominay may also leave, and a loan is planned for Anthony Elanga and Facundo Pellistri.
