Mohamed Salah of Liverpool has been spotted being pursued down a street near Anfield while shooting a new Pepsi commercial in the city center.
The Egyptian winger has previously featured in ads for the soft drink brand, alongside stars like Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, and Raheem Sterling.
A body double was employed to film some scenes for the commercial to minimize Salah’s risk of injury just days before Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Manchester United.
Mohamed Salah was seen filming a new advert for Pepsi in Liverpool on Thursday.
Salah’s appearance in the ad comes as some commentators label him the “best player in the world” due to his recent performance.
The Liverpool forward was observed dressed casually as he dashed down the street, chased by others on motorcycles and foot.
Reports suggest that up to 50 extras were involved in filming the scenes, which required a road closure in Liverpool’s Duke Street area.
The Liverpool striker was captured fleeing from a crowd as the cameras rolled.
Salah, joined by his agent Ramy Abbas Issa, attended the shoot on Thursday, just two days after scoring twice to secure a 3-2 win against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
These goals raised the former Roma player’s season total to 12 in just 11 matches.
He has netted in nearly all of Liverpool’s league and European fixtures this season, with the only exception being a 2-0 win against Burnley in August.
Salah appeared relaxed on set between takes, filming just a few miles from Anfield.
Salah and his agent Ramy Abbas Issa were seen arriving on a chilly day in Merseyside.
Salah was photographed with security as the production resulted in a road closure in Liverpool.
Salah had previously starred in a Pepsi ad with Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, and Raheem Sterling, and there was even a body double on set to help him avoid injury before heading to Old Trafford.
Salah has had a busy week, also attending the unveiling of a wax figure of himself at Madame Tussauds London.
Upon seeing the figure for the first time, he said, “That looks exactly like me; it’s like looking into a mirror. Does it have abs or not?”
He later added, “It’s a privilege to be recognized and immortalized in this way.
“I couldn’t believe it when I stood next to ‘myself’; it felt like seeing my own reflection. I can’t wait to hear what the fans think.
“It’s been an incredible experience collaborating with the artists at Madame Tussauds London to create my first-ever wax figure.”
