Alejandro Garnacho’s custom home gym is a clear display of his passion for Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo.
It has been revealed that the United player’s gymnasium features murals of himself, Lionel Messi, and CR7 on the walls.
The 20-year-old is rumored to be a fan of Ronaldo, with whom he once shared an Old Trafford dressing room.
In homage to his footballing mastermind, he even performed Ronaldo’s “Siuuu” celebration following his spectacular overhead kick against Everton in 2023. Garnacho even donned Nike’s Ronaldo-inspired Vapor 15 Mercurial Dream Speed cleats when he scored his spectacular goal.
However, he was seen exercising alongside an intimidating image of Argentina teammate Messi, giving supporters the impression that he shares his allegiances.
On X, someone remarked, “Alejandro Garnacho’s home gym is the definition of STANDING ON THE FENCE.”
One expert clarified, “He wants to be like Ronaldo and likes to play like him, but Messi is a king from where he comes from.”
One joked, “Two-factor authentication.”
Others, however, were not amenable to it. One retorted, “He’s a Ronaldo fan; there’s nothing like standing on the fence.”
Another person remarked, “We all know who he prefers.”
A few were ready to make fun of it. “I don’t understand why he would suddenly become a good player by plastering pictures of Ronaldo and Messi,” one person remarked.
On a different wall, the famous picture of Muhammad Ali following his victory over Sonny Liston in 1965 is displayed next to a huge picture of Michael Jordan in his Chicago Bulls glory.
Garnacho has purchased a barbell, weights, a bench, and a multipurpose workout platform, so it’s not just pictured.
After Rio Ferdinand reported that the Argentina star unfollowed Garnacho on Instagram in 2023, some people were shocked to learn that Garnacho has a bond with Messi.
On his podcast Vibe with Five, Rio Ferdinand responded to Garnacho’s choice to mimic Ronaldo’s celebration at Goodison Park by saying, “You know what I admire about him? He isn’t concerned.
“Messi unfollowed him because he is open about his preference for Ronaldo,” Garnacho informed me.
“Don’t care,” he says, “I’m a Ronaldo man.” Who is the greatest of all time? Ronaldo. (Even) while he is a member of the Argentina team.
Back in April 2022, fans claimed on social media that Messi had unfollowed Garnacho on Instagram after the Portuguese player called Ronaldo the best of all time in a picture he had shared.
It happened only three weeks after Garnacho called the Argentina captain a “idol” in a picture he shared of himself with Messi.
Even though the Manchester United player follows Garnacho on Instagram, Messi still does not follow him.
Roberto, Garnacho’s brother, reacted negatively to Ferdinand’s accusation, nevertheless.
“Fake, Messi never followed him,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
“Stop fabricating things to incite hatred; Garna (Alejandro Garnacho) loves and respects them both, and you are all attempting to incite rivalry.”
In response to Roberto’s post, Ferdinand later changed his mind and said, “Was sarcasm bro…”
