Manager Carlo Ancelotti has praised Gonzalo Garcia’s contribution to Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory over Leganes in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals.
Garcia, who scored the game-winning goal, has been performing well for Real Madrid’s reserve team, Castilla, this season.
“Gonzalo Garcia contributed tonight and is going through a very good phase with Castilla,” Ancelotti said.
“We should be happy with them. We must rely on them.
Garcia’s goal against Leganes was his first for the senior team, despite the fact that he has scored 19 goals for Castilla this season.
With 19 games left, Garcia is on track to surpass Mariano Díaz’s record of 25 goals in a single season for Castilla, which was set in the 2015–2016 campaign.
Ancelotti also praised the performances of Arda and Endrick, who both had a strong game.
