In an effort to get started right away at his new club, Marcus Rashford insisted on TRAINING on his first day off at Aston Villa.
Former Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim criticized the former England striker as being lazy, saying he didn’t work hard enough in training or games.
However, since deciding to join Villa on loan last Sunday, Rashford has been a model pro, according to SunSport.
By refusing to take two days off at the beginning of his first week, he and his new teammates immediately impressed new manager Unai Emery.
Instead, Rashford offered to come in for a grueling session on Monday, where he worked with individual coaches while “shaking off the cobwebs” in the gym and then on the training field.
The 27-year-old has quickly adapted to his new team and started off well with his colleagues, who have embraced him right away.
Rashford spends as little time in a hotel as possible since, crucially, he will not commute from his home in Manchester and has already begun looking for lodging in the West Midlands.
According to Villa insiders, the man who left Old Trafford in disarray has his act together and is prepared to launch his career under Emery.
“It must have felt very different for Marcus when he arrived at Bodymoor Heath for the first time on Sunday,” according to our sources.
After all, since he enrolled in United’s Academy at the age of seven, he has only ever known Old Trafford or the Carrington Training Ground.
“However, he was eager to meet the staff and completed all of his medical exams. After that, he visited the club canteen with the nutritionist, had his photos taken in all three Villa uniforms, and participated in interviews with club television.
“He made a good first impression on everyone he met and smiled a lot. He seemed realistic, appeared ready to please, and was truly thrilled about the next challenge.
“Marcus had other options at home and abroad,” we were informed. However, we had an edge because of the allure of competing for a spot in Europe and participating in the Champions League.
“He was very specific about his vision for Marcus during their lengthy phone conversation.
“He clearly illustrated his plan to put his career back on track by outlining exactly what he wanted him to achieve and what he would never expect him to do.
He informed Marcus exactly what he had planned for him, and the discourse was so intense that there was no space for misunderstanding. One could argue that the phone call was the final straw.
