Another twist in Alphonso Davies’s story: days after the agent rejected a deal with Real Madrid, Manchester United “bid hard” to sign the full-back from Bayern Munich.
The saga of Alphonso Davies is set to take a new turn after it was disclosed that Manchester United is “mainly” making a strong bid for the left-back position.
Since the start of the season, there has been much discussion over Davies’ future because the Canadian’s contract with Bayern Munich is slated to expire in the summer of 2025. In order to retain their first-choice left back after this season, the Bavarians are working to extend the contract as soon as feasible. The left back, nevertheless, has declined several bids. Real Madrid and Manchester United are the two teams most interested in signing Davis as a free agent next summer.
Nedal Huoseh, Davies’ agent, refuted reports earlier this week that the Bayern Munich player had already reached an agreement with Real Madrid for a summer transfer. Manchester United is “bidding hard” for Daviеs because Real Madrid doesn’t want to make any rash moves for the Canadian, according to a report from the Spanish newspaper AS (via SportsWitness).
According to AS, Real Madrid has already offered the agency its final offer and has chosen not to bid against other teams for Davies’ services. This might benefit Manchester United, who are in dire need of a top-tier left back because their only two left backs, Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw, are still sidelined due to injury.
Daviеs will need to continue putting in a lot of effort to establish himself with Bayern Munich until the conclusion of the season, regardless of what occurs in the summer. The Bavarians hope to increase their impact in the Champions League and reclaim the Bundesliga crown from Bayer Leverkusen.
