During Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town at Old Trafford, wing-back Patrick Dorgu received a straight red card for a horrific tackle.
Omari Hutchinson, a winger for Ipswich, went to control the ball at the touchline in the 43rd minute, which is when the event happened.
Hutchinson was caught high on the shin by Dorgu, who came racing in but went over the top of the ball.
At first, the referee was lenient, but after evaluating the challenge, VAR stepped in and asked the official to look at the pitchside monitor.
The referee changed his mind after reviewing the replays and sent Dorgu off, but not before teammate Manuel Ugarte consoled the defender.

Dorgu, who paid £29.4 million to join from Serie A team Lecce last month, had already had a terrible start to the match as Jaden Philogene put Ipswich ahead just four minutes due to a mix-up with Andre Onana.
Sam Morsy’s own goal tied the score, and Matthijs de Ligt’s goal put the Red Devils ahead, but United rallied for two goals in four minutes.
However, Hutchinson then gave Dorgu a strong challenge, and the two reunited shortly after Dorgu made a terrible tackle.
After he was dismissed, United had to make do with just ten men for over an hour.
Philogene scored his second goal of the game in first-half stoppage time to make it 2-2 going into halftime, but they were only able to maintain their lead for a few minutes after Dorgu left.
However, Harry Maguire gave United the lead again two minutes into the second half, and they managed to hold on to secure a vital three points.
