Liverpool star Luis Diaz could potentially leave Anfield at the end of the season amid renewed interest from Barcelona, according to reports.
The Colombian winger was previously on Barcelona’s radar last summer, but financial constraints prevented the Catalan giants from finalizing a deal, with Liverpool demanding £75 million.
Reporter Fabrizio Romano has indicated that there is a “concrete possibility” that Diaz may be shown the exit door soon. Although the 28-year-old’s contract runs until the summer of 2027, Liverpool might consider cashing in on him rather than risk him running down his deal.
Barcelona is expected to reignite their interest, as Diaz is “appreciated” by their transfer chiefs. However, the club’s financial situation could pose a significant hurdle. Competing for Diaz’s signature are Saudi Arabian clubs, which have fewer financial constraints, and they are also considering Liverpool teammate Darwin Nunez.
Additionally, it was reported that there was genuine interest in Diaz from Manchester City a year ago.
As Liverpool gears up for a busy summer, key players like Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Mo Salah are facing contract expirations. The club is also said to be pursuing Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez and has made contact regarding a possible bid for Alexander Isak, although Newcastle is determined to keep their Carabao Cup final hero.
