Myles Lewis-Skelly’s family was seen ecstatically rejoicing over his historic first England goal.
Thomas Tuchel, the new Three Lions manager, gave the Arsenal star his first senior cap during the match against Albania at Wembley.
Lewis-Skelly, a left-back, returned Tuchel’s faith in just 20 minutes as he snagged Jude Bellingham’s incredible pass and slipped past goalie Thomas Strakosha.
Additionally, he became the youngest player in history to score on his first England cap at the age of 18 years and 176 days.
Lewis-Skelly exceeded the mark set by team-mate Marcus Rashford – who did it at 18 years and 209 days against Australia in May 2016.
Rashford, 27, was coincidentally making his first international appearance in a year in England’s World Cup qualification opener.
Following the first goal, Lewis-Skelly’s family was spotted going bonkers in the Wembley stands.
ITV cameras captured the wonderkid’s sister and grandmother embracing and cheering.
Lewis-Skelly said after the game: “I’m lost for words. I am really grateful for the manager to have trust in me. I’m overjoyed.
“The fans made me feel at home so thank you to them.”
Tuchel declared: “What a player. incredible character.
“As soon as he entered the camp, he demonstrated that falling in love with him is common. It is richly deserved.
Declan Rice also praised his Gunners teammate Lewis-Skelly as captain Harry Kane secured a 2-0 victory.
According to Rice, “He has no fear.” Even though he is only eighteen, he excels at everything from the start.
Because of his confidence, I knew he would play that way tonight.
“He has remained grounded, and this is just the beginning for him.”
