Bukayo Saka funds 120 life-changing surgeries for Nigerian children in need after teaming up with youth charity BigShoe

Bukayo Saka, a star for Arsenal and England, has contributed to the funding of 120 surgeries that have changed the lives of youngsters in Nigeria.

After being called up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad, Saka, 21, is getting ready to compete in his first World Cup, but it hasn’t stopped him from focusing on other things.

The winger was instrumental in last month’s medical operations for Kano youngsters, which were organized in collaboration with the youth organization BigShoe.

Saka’s initiatives are a reaction to Nigerian concerns about ailments like brain tumors and inguinal hernias.

‘I feel privileged to be in a position where I can help to making the children’s life easier and better through these surgeries,’ the 21-year-old said of the situation.

I still have a strong sense of kinship with Nigeria. Using my skills to make a difference wherever I can is very important to me, and I want to express my gratitude to the entire BigShoe team for making this happen.

Every youngster should have equal opportunities to realize their aspirations, in my opinion.

“This was really important to me, and I really want to help if I can do anything.” Seeing the children and their parents happy brings me joy.

“I want to help as many kids as I can and do more and more.”

Five doctors worked together to treat and care for the youngsters during the successful mid-October procedures.

It’s a problem that affects many children in Kano, the second-biggest city in Nigeria.

With Real Madrid’s Antonio Rudiger pledging to give all of his World Cup profits to children in Sierra Leone, the Arsenal star is not the only player to have partnered with BigShoe in recent months.

The Madrid defender has long contributed to the funding of surgeries for the nation’s impoverished youngsters, having established The Antonio Rudiger Foundation For Sierra Leone in January.

Rudiger claims that his efforts to BigShoe are a “matter of honor” and that he would “like to implement many more projects in Sierra Leone” as the World Cup approaches.

Rudiger’s activities are a reaction to the nation’s congenital clubfoot problem. Many youngsters are impacted by this problem for the rest of their lives.

“It hurts to see the circumstances in which Sierra Leonean children grow up,” the former Chelsea defender clarified.

After several months of follow-up care, patients can eventually walk and engage in social activities after the misalignment is fixed during surgery.

“I am extremely appreciative of my privileged position and thankful for these opportunities.”
