Just over a year after the first drop, Nike reveal chapter 2 of the Liverpool FC x LeBron James capsule. The collection mixes classic basketball looks with the latest football fits in a fresh black, blue and gold colour palette.
Last year, Nike flexed the type of star power that first drew Liverpool to the Swoosh banner by launching the LFC x LeBron James capsule, and now they follow it up with chapter 2, which expands on the energy of the first drop. As with that initial capsule, this latest instalment sees a blend of basketball and football styles, crossing the boundaries of both sports for a unique amalgamation.
It features black short sleeve stadium jersey, basketball jersey and shorts, football jacket and t-shirts. Gold detailing calls out the iconic phrases ‘you’ll never walk alone’ for LFC, and ‘strive for greatness’ which is LeBron’s motto.
There is one pair of sneakers in the collection LFC x LeBron Nike NXXT Gen Amplified trainers which have an Akron-inspired sole, an ode to LeBron’s roots and AirZoom cushioning.
Speaking about the new collection, Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk said: “It’s great to have worked together alongside LeBron to launch this collaboration. I’m excited for everyone to see what we’ve created.”
Liverpool women’s Taylor Hinds added: “It’s another great collaboration between LFC and LBJ. It’s a nice mix of basketball and football fits.”
