The 18-year-old ran into Erling Haaland after the dramatic 2-2 tie at the Etihad in September, and the Norwegian attacker even inquired, “Who are you?”

The left-back’s performance stunned City five months later, and he even attended Haaland’s well-known celebration.

Haaland also made the now-famous comment, “Stay humble, eh?” to Mikel Arteta after that confrontation. This comment garnered a lot of airplay when the Gunners crushed their opponents on Sunday.

Despite being the center of attention, Lewis-Skelly’s mother, Marcia, revealed that her son’s modesty has been a major asset to his career thus far.

In a video posted to the Dose of Society TikTok channel after Sunday’s game, Marcia is asked what it’s like to be the mother of a professional football player.

“I’m busy, but I’m still a mother,” she stated. “If you have the right people and the right support, like family support, I think anything is possible.”

“Stay humble, be thankful, keep your family grounded, and surround yourself with the right people.”

Marcia may have the finest understanding of the importance of a support system because she founded the No1Fan.club, a network of education and assistance for parents of children in both men’s and women’s academies.

Perhaps no one knows the importance of a support system better than Marcia, who founded the No1Fan.club, a network of education and assistance for parents of children in both men’s and women’s academies.

In the video, which has gotten over 6 million views, she added, “We have a platform to support parents who are navigating youth football, so get the support you need.”

On the No1Fan.club website, Marcia herself acknowledges that the world of young football “can be confusing for parents.”

She revealed that her family's ethos of staying 'humble' has been key during Lewis-Skelly's rise

She described the actions she took to advance her education and put herself in a position to assist Lewis-Skelly, including earning a master’s degree and a FIFA agent’s license.

“After my son demonstrated significant promise on the field, I realized right away that the world of youth football can be confusing for parents.” She states on their website that “when he was just eleven years old, football agents started calling.”

By the time he was twelve, brands wanted to discuss boot agreements, and at fourteen, his academy offered him an early scholarship. At various points, I felt unprepared to make decisions.

I obtained an MSc in Football Business, went to seminars, and obtained my FIFA agent license (not to represent players, but for my own education) in order to learn more.

I came saw other parents going through similar struggles as I moved from grassroots to academy. If I was having issues, I realized that a lot of other people must be too.

It can be difficult to locate parents with clear instructions because there are many organizations and persons involved, each with its own objectives. To help families get the knowledge and support they need on this journey, we created No1Fan.club.

Lewis-Skelly’s rise has been incredible, even though he only played 10 Premier League games in his first season as a senior player at Arsenal.

He is also eligible for an England call-up under new manager Thomas Tuchel because of his exceptional performances.
