To assist the team reach its first Champions League final in almost two decades, Mikel Arteta has urged Arsenal supporters to generate the greatest atmosphere at the Emirates on Tuesday night.
After crushing 15-time European winners Real Madrid in the previous round, the Gunners are on a high after facing Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the semi-final.
The north London team is focused on its last opportunity to win a trophy this season after Liverpool won the Premier League title on Sunday.
And Arteta wants more after the effect of the boisterous fans during Arsenal’s 3-0 victory against Real Madrid in the home leg on April 8.
Since we constructed it, it’s likely one of the biggest games at the Emirates, he said. Though it’s a lovely tale at the moment, we desire much more. We are creating history.
“More”—as opposed to Real Madrid. When I tell you guys to bring their boots, shorts, and shirts so we can play every ball together, I mean it.
“That location must be unique, something we haven’t seen before, if we want to do something special.”
“I sincerely hope that everyone who visits the Emirates brings that enthusiasm.”
The players sense that they can improve, and they felt that way against Real Madrid. You can see they are eager to play when you look into their eyes.
Arsenal last made it to the European Cup final in 2006 and has never won the tournament. Arteta is now frantically trying to make it to Munich on May 31 for this season’s finale.
“It’s an amazing opportunity,” he continued. We are really near, and we are here to make history. We must now bring it to pass. As a team and as supporters, we have a huge potential; it all depends on who we are and how much we want it.
PSG’s performance has improved since the Gunners’ 2-0 victory at the Emirates in the league phase. They defeated Aston Villa and Liverpool in the previous two rounds, and Luis Enrique’s team is looking to defeat England for the third time.
“Remember that Arsenal has never won the Champions League before, and only one of us will receive a ticket to the final, and I hope that will be PSG,” he stated.
“It is a dream to be here,” Gabriel Martinelli, a forward for Arsenal, said, acknowledging that this is the most important game of his career. Ever since I began playing football at the age of five or six, I’ve dreamed of playing in the Champions League and making it to the semi-finals.
It’s the chance of our life. Our mindset is to win, and we deserve to be here.
