Jamie Carragher criticises Arsenal defender William Saliba for his terrible mistake against champions Liverpool

William Saliba, a defender for Arsenal, was criticized by Jamie Carragher for making a “poor” mistake during Sunday’s match against Premier League winners Liverpool.

The first goal at Anfield was scored by Cody Gakpo after the Gunners center-back, who has been linked to Real Madrid, was caught out of position.

Carragher, a former Liverpool defender and football commentator, was not impressed with the Frenchman and criticized him in his halftime review.

During a replay of Gakpo’s goal on Sky Sports, Carragher remarked, “We know Arsenal like to go man to man when teams are playing at the back.”

A ball over the top is used for white. Saliba is then at right-back, while White is at center-back. Where is the leadership?

It must be someone telling someone to go outside. Saliba finds himself in a difficult situation.

He doesn’t play center back or right back. This is truly subpar.

Stephen Warnock, a fellow former Liverpool defender, claimed that Arsenal was “caught sleeping” for Gakpo’s goal.

He said on BBC Radio 5 Live, “Arsenal was caught sleeping, so they turned off for a moment, and Liverpool is aware of the situation.”

“With a quick throw into Andy Robertson’s feet, he curls a delicious ball into Cody Gakpo, who is unable to miss.”

Saliba addressed assertions that he is currently the top center-back in world football last month.

The 24-year-old told Téléfoot, “I believe I am among the best, but not the best defender in the world just yet.” “I hope to improve; I can still get much better one day.”
